In 1983 Mary James, an at-home
mom in California,
was tired of being alone at
home with her children. She wanted to meet
other
at-home moms and she wanted
to find other at-home children for her
children to
play with. She discovered
there were no other organizations that met
during the
day and allowed her to come
with her children. She decided to start a
brand new
organization for at-home moms,
and the MOMS Club was born. The chapter
she
started was so successful, she knew
moms in other areas must be needing
the
MOMS Club, too! Soon she and other
volunteers were helping moms start
MOMS Club
across the country and around
the world.
There are over 2000 chapters
with more than 100,000 members
across the United
States! There are also MOMS Club in 7 different
countries.
MOMS Club offers age based
playgroups, park days, stroller
walks, MOMS Night
Out, general meetings with speakers, field trips,
information exchanges, service
projects, fund-raisers and much more.
However,
our main purpose is to set up a
network of support and friendship for
you.
